History of ZIETs Timeline & Historical Photographs

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, as an educational organization committed to quality school education of over a million students, requires to have fully committed and professionally competent employees – both teaching and non-teaching – who can shape the destinies of the students entrusted to their care. The development of employees as professionals calls for structured and systematic training to all its employees. In keeping with this Preamble to the Training Policy perspective, ZIET Gwalior was established in 2002 and ZIET Mumbai in 2003.
ZIET Mysore was the third Training Institute which was established in April 2004.The foundation stone of the administrative building of the Institute was laid on April 16th, 1998 by the then Commissioner, KVS, Mrs. Lizzie Jacob I.A.S. and it was inaugurated on December 10th, 2008 by the then Commissioner KVS, Shri Ranglal Jamuda I.A.S.
The four feeder regions of South zone that it caters to are Bangalore, Chennai, Ernakulam & Hyderabad covering the states of Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu & Union territory of Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar and Lakshadweep. Trainings and In-service courses for Teachers/staff from all over India are also organised. ZIET Mysore is built in a campus of approximately 5 acres with latest gadgets and sufficient rooms to train about a hundred employees at a time with boarding & lodging facilities. The institute is headed by a Director who is one of the Deputy Commissioners of KVS. The members of Faculty are experienced PGTs in different subjects and posted as Training Associates. The Training in the Primary section is planned by Training Associates (Primary) who are selected from among the Headmasters of Primary section. The Non-Teaching staff provide able support for the program planned in the Institute.
Considerable efforts are made to identify the education and training needs of the staff on a regular basis. Based on these inputs, well thought out programmes are designed and conducted with a view to equip the employees with updated knowledge, current skills and enabling attitude so that they perform their duties effectively and efficiently.
