LIBRARY – ZIET MYSURU

The Library of the Zonal Institute of Education and Training (ZIET), Mysuru is a vibrant learning and resource centre that caters to the information, academic and professional development needs of staff, trainers and participants attending various training programmes. The Library also extends online services and resources through its Library Blog, facilitating easy access to educational and professional information.

The Library has a rich and diverse collection of more than 1,600 books and over 2,000 training manuals, covering education, training, pedagogy, curriculum, professional development and other areas of academic interest. The collection also includes textbooks, supplementary learning materials, reference books, journals, magazines, newspapers, dictionaries, encyclopaedias, atlases and other educational resources. The Library also provides access to digital and multimedia resources and is equipped with computers and internet connectivity to support effective learning and information access.

ZIET Mysuru Library plays an important role in supporting the Institute’s training activities and coordinates workshops for various cadres of KVS employees, including Librarians from its four feeder regions. The Library also documents and showcases the academic and training activities of ZIET Mysuru through appropriate online and offline platforms. It facilitates the creation, compilation and publication of e-manuals and other digital learning resources, while also supporting the preparation of print-based manuals and resource materials for training programmes.

The Library further contributes to the Institute’s digital outreach and communication initiatives by coordinating content and updates for the ZIET Mysuru website and social media platforms. Through documentation, digital publishing, knowledge dissemination and technology-enabled library services, the Library serves not merely as a repository of information but as an active centre for knowledge creation, communication, professional learning and capacity building.
